Samsung P3 Large Screen
This DAP should be at the top of your list if you prefer a large screen, lot of additional features and the superb performance.
The size of Samsung P3 is nearly identical to the P2, his old brother. P3's rear body housed with aluminum, extremely match with the plastic material for front body. The button give an undeniably sexy look. P2's rear body made from a painted metal and often times scratched. P3's rear body are painted metal too, pluses adding a brushed aluminum veneer so finger prints and scratches are no longer an issue. This is one of the many examples where Samsung clearly learns from its experience.
With its 3 inches LCD make this DAP become really stunning. The colors are absolutely incredible, the screen which made from glass provides a crystal clear clarity and an excellent viewing angle. This DAP doesn't have an accelerometer but the screen orientation can be rotated 360 degrees using a swirl-like gesture with your fingertip.
As with the P2, P3 offers a customizable interface with various fonts and themes to choose from, plus the ability to set image as wallpaper. This portable source is also fully updatable via firmware updates, so you can't imagine what games and widgets that might be added going forward. Samsung was fairly consistent with the latest firmware releases.
This source is positively brimming with an audio enhancements and sound effects. When listening to a song, tapping the menu icon brings up an overlay that contains various options, some of which have their own sub-menus. "Sound Effect" allows users to enable/disable and choose settings for street mode, playlist DNSe, audio upscaler, and VibeWoofer (the player vibrates with the rhythm of the song). This source supports a lot of audio/video/image file extensions, such as FLAC as most of audiophilers probably prefer this format.
Video playback is one of this DAP strengths, tested by me with the popular three video formats: DivX/XviD, WMV and MP4 codecs. The test uses three codecs with 640x380 pixel to the same video and showed no difference in quality — all played flawlessly. Even though 800x600 pixel video conversions are unlikely, this portable will play files up to that resolution.
With a lot of features makes this DAP be the most extensive sets of extras on a non-WiFi digital media player. From Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and text-to-speech to games, Flash files, and a sketch app. Samsung almost add the all things. Overall, P3 is the best digital media player music source that Samsung has ever made.
